Before 1951, few foreigners had ever penetrated Nepal’s boundaries. More than 90% of Nepal is covered by mountains, making air transport an even more convenient and practical mode of transport, bringing access to many areas in the region with no road access or formal infrastructure. Nepal Airlines launched in 1958 and is the flag carrier of Nepal. It is also the oldest airline in the country.
Today, Nepal Airlines services domestic and medium-haul international routes using a mixed fleet. Modern Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft were added in 2015 and 2018 respectively, featuring the airline’s latest Business and Economy-class products.
Destinations on the route network include Bangkok, Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Narita, Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. There are flights to more than 25 domestic destinations within Nepal.
