Effective April 12, 2017, Hong Kong Airlines and Asiana Airlines entered a codeshare partnership to bring more flight options to passengers, traveling between Hong Kong and South Korea’s capital Seoul.
Under this agreement, Hong Kong Airlines and Asiana Airlines place their respective marketing codes on each other’s flights between Hong Kong and Seoul. The partnership allows customers of both, Hong Kong Airlines and Asiana Airlines, to choose from a total of five daily flights connecting the two Asian key business cities.
Mr. Li Dianchun, Chief Commercial Officer at Hong Kong Airlines, commented: “We launched the daily service from Hong Kong to Seoul last year in December, and it was our first route to South Korea. For the past few months, we have been looking into avenues to improve schedule options on this route. We are very happy to establish a codeshare partnership with Asiana Airlines, one of the world’s best airlines. Connecting the hubs of both airlines, the codeshare does not only benefit customers traveling between Hong Kong and Seoul, it also allows seamless transfers on itineraries to or from other destinations that include flights operated by both carriers”.
The codeshare flights opened for sale on April 12, 2017. Flight tickets under the codeshare agreement can be purchased via travel agents, or the airlines US sales office.
