Global Ranking Jumped to No. 24
Quality service has been the prime focus, as well as an ultimate goal at Hong Kong Airlines. At the 2017 World Airline Awards, Hong Kong Airlines was again awarded Skytrax 4-star ranking, with a jump in global ranking from No. 29 to No. 24, becoming the only Hong Kong-based airline that made progress in ranking this year. The airline also took one step further to win second place in Skytrax ‘World’s Best Regional Airlines’, demonstrating its continuous enhancement over the years. Mr. Tang King Shing, Vice Chairman at Hong Kong Airlines, was invited to receive the honor on behalf of the company at a ceremony, staged by Skytrax at the 2017 Paris Air Show.
“Hong Kong Airlines will soon make its debut in North America, by adding its new service to Vancouver, Canada, on June 30,” said Mr. Tang King Shing. “All of us at Hong Kong Airlines are very excited to bring our quality service to a market beyond the Asia Pacific region. In recent years, we have been actively exploring international markets, including other destinations in North America, as well as Europe. Meanwhile, we have focused on service innovation, improving our service level on an ongoing basis. We are proud that currently several Skytrax 5-star airlines have been the customers of our VIP lounge ‘Club Bauhinia’ at Hong Kong International Airport. And we are confident to bring our attentive services to more customers in July, when our brand new VIP lounge at Midfield Concourse at Hong Kong International Airport will open. In addition, our first Airbus A350 will join the fleet in August, supporting the launch of more long-haul routes.”
“Hong Kong Airlines has been awarded Skytrax 4-star ranking since 2011”, Mr. Tang continued. “It is very encouraging to earn the prestigious 4-star recognition again this year. On behalf of the entire company, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our passengers and industry partners, who have supported us all along the way.”
Mr. Edward Plaisted, Chairman at Skytrax, complimented Hong Kong Airlines for its outstanding performance among regional airlines in the Asia Pacific, and even other international markets. He expressed his confidence in the airlines global expansion, which is empowered by a series of upcoming big moves, including the new Vancouver service, and the introduction of A350.
