Aerolineas Argentinas added a new B-737/800 as part of its fleet renewal plan, now adding 42 Boeing 700 and 800 aircraft, to operate regional and coastal flights, and 84 aircraft in total.
The brand new aircraft arrived in the country directly from the Boeing factory in Seattle, USA and made its first flight on Argentine territory, completing the Aeroparque – San Salvador de Jujuy route. The inaugural flight was attended by the president of the Aerolineas Group, Mario Dell’Acqua, who was received by Gerardo Morales, Governor of the Province and local media at the Gobernador Horacio Guzmán International Airport in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy.
“We continue to grow, and in the growth strategy, fleet renewal plays a central role. It allows us to offer a better service and helps us maintain the leadership in punctuality that we have achieved in the last 20 months,” said Dell’Acqua.
The new B-737/800, registered LV-GVC, has a configuration of 170 seats, with 8 in Club Economy and 162 in Economy class. It will cover the growing offer of services, as a result of the increase in its flight frequencies and the sum of new destinations, such as the federal corridors and the recently inaugurated distribution center in the city of Córdoba.
On the other hand, and in the framework of renewal and expansion of its fleet, Aerolíneas will begin to receive in November and December the new B-737 MAX 8. In this way, the flag airline will be the first in Latin America in to fly the MAX model, a state-of-the-art aircraft that is much more modern and efficient, which will allow to offer the best service of the region to its passengers.
The fleet of narrow-body aircraft is completed by 26 Embraer E-190 Austral aircraft, thus forming a fleet of 68 aircraft with an average age of less than six years. The total fleet of Aerolíneas and Austral, including wide-body aircraft, currently includes 84 aircraft.
