Coming in its 50th year of existence, Royal Brunei Airlines secured the much-coveted award for World’s Leading Cabin Crew 2023, the fourth year in a row it has won in this category. Captain Sabirin Hj Abd Hamid, the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Brunei Airlines, said that the award was a testament to the extensive training undergone by Royal Brunei crew, focusing on safety, service, and hospitality.
While TUI fly picked up the award for the World’s Leading Charter Airline 2023 as well as Europe’s Leading Charter Airline 2023, this was but two among the 39 awards won in total by the TUI Group, which was also honored for its leisure cruises. Air Seychelles won three awards, namely the World’s Leading Airline – Indian Ocean, 2023 as well as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand, 2023 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Economy Class, 2023. Its home country of Seychelles continued to retain its title as the World’s Most Romantic Destination 2023, an award it has won four times on the trot since 2020 edging out its neighbor Mauritius.
Another African carrier, Kenya Airways, won the award for Africa’s Leading Airline – Economy Class 2023. This is the fifth time they have won the award, and the Nairobi-based carrier also won the award for Africa’s Leading In-Flight Magazine 2023. Its in-flight magazine Msafiri was adjudged the winner the last time around as well. Allan Kilavuka, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways remarked that these awards were a result of their ‘customer-first’ strategy, something they are constantly working on to achieve their goal of becoming the most preferred carrier in Africa. Continuous innovation to improve their guests’ customer experience at all touch points is the hallmark of their strategy, which is bearing fruit, according to Kilavuka.
It was however, another one of AirlinePros International’s clients which was recognized for its exceptional customer service. VietJet Air won the award for Asia’s Leading Airline – Customer Experience 2023 in a hotly contested category that had Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Air Asia among the nominees. Malaysia Airlines won the award for Asia’s Leading Airline – In-Flight Entertainment, 2023; fending off tough competition from leading carriers Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Korean Air.
Across the Atlantic, Caribbean Airlines was adjudged the Caribbean’s Leading Airline Brand in 2023; while interCaribbean Airways picked up the award for Caribbean’s Leading Cabin Crew 2023. It is the seventh time in a row that Caribbean Airlines has won this prestigious award, while it was narrowly beaten to the Caribbean’s Leading Cabin Crew 2023 award, which it won last year. Befittingly, the Caribbean’s Leading Cabin Crew 2023 award was received by Trina Clarke, a member of interCaribbean’s cabin crew.
