Spanish carrier Wamos Air is planning to launch a route between Varadero and Guatemala, in order to further connect Spain to Latin America, as the region accounts for over 50% of its operations.
“We are working very hard with the governments of Guatemala, Cuba, and Spain to carry passengers between Guatemala and Cuba, which will provide connectivity between two countries which do not have direct flight option in place,” said Mario Dominguez, Head at Wamos Tours.
On May 29, 2018, Wamos Air is to resume operation between Madrid to Guatemala with a B747-400 – a seasonal service that was launched last year in June.
Recently, Wamos Air signed a new agreement with LATAM to lease three A330s, with two being placed on the latter’s Bogota – Santiago route, and the third to be used on the Guayaquil – Madrid route.
