MYANMAR NATIONAL AIRWAYS
Myanmar National Airways (MNA), the flag carrier of Myanmar, was founded in 1948 and is the oldest airline in Myanmar. The airline is state-owned and is headquartered in Yangon, the country’s largest city and main economic hub. MNA operates primarily out of Yangon International Airport, serving as its main base for both domestic and international flights.
Myanmar National Airways maintains a modern fleet consisting of various aircraft specifically selected for different route types. The fleet includes aircraft ATR 72-600 for regional and domestic routes and Boeing 737-800 for short to medium-haul international flights. These aircraft are well-suited to cater to the services offered by MNA, assuring efficiency and passenger comfort.
MNA has interline agreements with several prominent airlines to improve connectivity and provide seamless travel experiences for passengers. Some important partners include Garuda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, Thai Airways, Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Hahn Air, and Singapore Airlines.
These partnerships enable MNA to offer more reach and convenience to passengers traveling beyond its direct service network.
The airline’s loyalty program, MNA Club, is designed to reward its loyal passengers with multiple benefits. Silver, Gold, and Diamond are the three tiers included in the membership program. The members can earn points on flights operated by MNA and its partner airlines, which can be redeemed for extra privileges.
Myanmar National Airways operates a wide network, which connects destinations domestically and globally. MNA serves major cities and popular tourist destinations within Myanmar, including Mandalay, Naypyidaw, Bagan, and Thandwe, domestically. Internationally, the airline flies to various cities in Asia such as Cambodia, China, India, Singapore, Nepal, South Korea, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Thailand.
Being the national airline, Myanmar National Airlines plays a pivotal role in connecting the country’s remote and urban regions, facilitating both tourism and commerce. Known for its commitment to safety and customer satisfaction, the airline has been an integral part of Myanmar’s aviation history. With a strategic focus on expanding its route network, MNA continues to explore new destinations to better serve its passengers and promote Myanmar as a travel destination.
