MIAT Mongolian Airlines is the national flag carrier of Mongolia, headquartered in Ulaanbaatar. Established in 1956, MIAT stands for “Mongolian Irgenii Agaariin Teewer” or Монголын Иргэний Агаарын Тээвэр which translates to Mongolian Civil Air Transport. MIAT Mongolian Airlines is owned by the state. Operating from its primary hub at Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Sergelen, near Ulaanbaatar, the airline connects Mongolia with several destinations in Asia and Europe.

Committed to offering safe and comfortable travel to its passengers, the airline maintains a fleet consisting of Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX 8, Boeing 757-200(F), Boeing 767-300, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Bombardier CRJ-200, and Bombardier CRJ-700.

Facilitating hassle-free connectivity between destinations, MIAT Mongolian Airlines has codeshare agreements with other airlines including China Southern, Air Astana, Korean Airlines, Air India, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Air China, Asiana Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, British Airways, Eva Airways Corporation, China Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Delta Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Hong Kong Airlines, Malaysian Airline System, Jeju Air, Qatar Airways, Shenzhen Airlines, KLM Dutch Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, United Airlines, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways International, Vietnam Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. The airline has an interline partnership with Airberlin which connects passengers to many selected destinations in Europe, Canada, and the US.

Blue Sky Mongolia is the loyalty program of the airline, which offers a multitude of services and benefits through its membership tiers, and the passengers can register through the airline’s website. Miles can be accumulated if the members buy a ticket and fly only on the main routes operated by MIAT SPC, and the miles accumulated depend on the class of seat reservation.
