Welcome aboard, Air Sierra Leone!

AirlinePros International is excited to announce its appointment as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Air Sierra Leone in the United Kingdom (UK). The agreement was cemented before the start of the airline’s new service connecting London Gatwick (LGW) with Freetown (FNA), which commenced in mid-June. Inventory is now available on agents’ GDS displays.

Air Sierra Leone will operate three weekly flights on the new London Gatwick route, using a new Boeing 737-Max 8 aircraft.

Launched in late 2024, Air Sierra Leone began operations in January 2025. As its nation’s flag carrier, the airline is focused on enhancing connectivity to and from Sierra Leone, catering to both the Sierra Leonean diaspora and international travel market.

Competitive fares will help to promote tourism and business travel in the future. With plans to expand its network into other parts of West Africa and Europe, Air Sierra Leone is also poised to play an important role in the growth of Africa’s air travel market.

Linzi Barber, Regional Managing Partner of AirlinePros Northern Europe, was excited about the launch and confirmed Air Sierra Leone had recently finalised GDS agreements with both Euroairlines and Hahn Air.

Linzi highlighted various tourism opportunities in Sierra Leone – the beaches, culture, Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and the iconic Sierra Leone Marathon event, held annually around May in aid of the country’s Street Child charity.

“We are delighted to be entrusted with the representation of Air Sierra Leone in the UK,” Linzi added. “This partnership underscores our commitment to fostering connectivity and driving growth in the travel and aviation sector. We look forward to supporting Air Sierra Leone in achieving its ambitious goals and delivering exceptional value to travellers on this exciting new route.”

About the airline’s GSA agreement with AirlinePros, Augustine Bona, Head of Media, Communications & Public Relations at Air Sierra Leone, said: “This partnership reflects our commitment to global connectivity and proudly positioning Sierra Leone on the world aviation map.”

AirlinePros was honoured to attend a gala dinner in London in April, marking Air Sierra Leone’s inaugural flight on the new route – even more special as it fell on Sierra Leone’s National Day.

VIP guests included the Sierra Leone Transport Minister, the UK High Commissioner, and the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority in Sierra Leone. Other distinguished guests included the airline’s investors and senior management team, key industry experts, and members of the diaspora community.
