Avianca to enhance navigation at JFK

Avianca is making it easier for passengers to navigate through various airports with the launch of RouteMe, a new tool designed to streamline mobility, especially for customers with disabilities.
The simple-to-use tool allows passengers to navigate key areas within airports by scanning a QR code at strategic locations. This provides instant access to personalized directions without the need for app downloads or registration.
A pilot program has started at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, with plans for expansion to additional airports across North and Latin America throughout the year.
With RouteMe, avianca aims to improve the overall travel experience by providing clear, step-by-step guidance to essential points like check-in, baggage drop-off, and boarding gates. The tool features visual and audio instructions in over 22 languages, is automatically tailored based on the user’s phone settings, and includes accessible routes for travellers with reduced mobility.
Michael Swiatek, Chief Accessibility Officer at the airline, said: “With RouteMe, we aim to transform our passengers’ experience by simplifying their airport journey.”
