Tanzania’s leading airline Precision Air announced the launch of scheduled flights into the Serengeti National Park through the Seronera air strip, commencing October 01, 2017. The news came shortly after the airline announced its anticipated return to Uganda this July.
Precision Air has operated charter flights into Seronera, and will now become the first and the only IATA member, offering scheduled service into Serengeti National Park.
Mr. Robert Owusu, Commercial Director at Precision Air, commented, “Serengeti National Park is among the Seven Wonders of the World. The Serengeti is a beautiful and magical place that everyone should visit.”
The vast plains of the Serengeti National Park cover almost 5,700 square miles. The annual wildebeest migration across the Serengeti is the most spectacular wildlife event on the planet. The migration is the lifeblood of the plains, fertilizing the soil, and providing vital protein for predators – without it, the entire eco-system would collapse. A glimpse into the interconnectedness of life itself!
“With our flights to Seronera, which is a small settlement in the park, we are going to transform the entire Safari experience,” added Owusu. “Tourists will be able to fly directly to Serengeti to spend more time in the park, rather than driving for hours to and from Serengeti. We will operate four flights a week: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Passengers can make their bookings through our website, with their preferred travel agent, or tour operator. Our scheduled flights will make it easier for travelers to visit Serengeti National Park. This reflects our commitment to provide superior airline service, and contribute to the development of tourism in the country.”
