Aviation Week Africa 2025 kicks off in Livingstone

AirlinePros’ top leadership travelled to Livingstone, Zambia to attend the Aviation Week Africa 2025 conference.
Themed ‘Sustaining Aviation in Africa through Innovation and Collaboration’ the event was inaugurated by Zambia’s National Minister of Transport and Logistics Frank Tayali, who is also in charge of aviation, and Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba.
Achma Asokan, Group CEO of AirlinePros International, highlighted the importance of the connection between tourism and aviation, stating: “From the destination’s ‘Zambia in the Sun’ campaign to ‘Let’s Explore Zambia’, the giant strides made by Zambia in tourism among other areas is a tribute to this collaborative spirit as well as the unstinting efforts of the National Tourism Board.”
Over the five-day event, industry leaders, policymakers, and representatives from airlines and airports discussed various opportunities and challenges facing Africa’s rapidly growing aviation market, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
The 2025 edition of AWA highlighted the event’s importance as a key platform for building partnerships and finding solutions to improve the aviation industry in Africa, laying the groundwork for future growth and collaboration.
