ITA Airways is owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance for the exercise of business in the air transport sector. The airline started active service in 2020. Being the flag carrier of Italy, it replaced its predecessor, Alitalia. ITA Airways has interline agreements with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Neos, Qantas, Swiss International Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Vistara. ITA Airways announces that it has obtained the renewal of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, a program of the International Air Transport Association, IATA, to evaluate the control and operational management systems of an airline.
